Revision Bariatric Surgery
If you have previously had bariatric surgery, regained weight, and found diet and exercise to be ineffective, you may be a candidate for bariatric revision surgery. Bariatric revision surgery corrects problems that have arisen since the initial surgery and helps prevent further weight loss.
After bariatric surgery, patients typically remain in the surgeon’s care for several years. Depending on how long it has been since your weight loss procedure, your original surgeon may still be monitoring your progress. If the surgeon determines that the weight loss is not sufficient, they will take x-rays to see if the size of the stomach has changed or identify what is happening to determine if correction is needed. or It’s been years since my first surgery and I may have gained weight for a variety of reasons. Depending on the type of surgery you had originally, you may benefit from revision surgery. The corrective option that’s best for you depends on your weight loss goals and the type of previous surgery you’ve had.
